County Administrator Joe Casey presented his proposed budget for fiscal year 2020. The proposal maintains the existing real estate tax rate of 95 cents per $100 of assessed valuation and includes a general fund budget of $733 million, a 3 percent increase over the current budget. The county is working with the Asian & Latino Solidarity Alliance of Central Virginia (ALSACV) to launch My Chesterfield Academy, a program aimed at helping multicultural residents understand and navigate county government and resources. The academy will launch in June with monthly sessions held through December. Details here.

Goochland
The economic development authority meets Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. Business includes discussion of the authority’s strategic plan and review of a draft Residence Inn performance incentive agreement.

Hanover
The planning commission meets Thursday at 6 p.m. Business includes a public hearing on a request from Riverstone Properties to rezone 113 acres near Interstate 295 and Pole Green Road for commercial and light industrial uses including the planned relocation of the Virginia Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control headquarters. Also on the agenda, Chick-fil-A seeks a permit for a restaurant at Chamberlayne Road and Times Dispatch Boulevard. Full agenda here.

Henrico
County Manager John Vithoulkas presented his proposed budget for fiscal year 2020. The $1.3 billion proposal includes a 5.7 percent increase to the general fund and maintains the current real estate tax rate of 87 cents per $100 of assessed value. Powhatan
Supervisors and the School Board will hold a joint meeting on the proposed budget for fiscal year 2020 at 6 p.m. Monday. Agenda here.

The planning commission meets Monday at 1:30 p.m. Business includes a request from Matt Jarreau to rezone a quarter-acre at 700 N. 31st St. to allow construction of six single-family attached homes. Full agenda here.
