The personal injury law firm of Allen & Allen raised over 55,000 pounds of food for the Fredericksburg Regional Food Bank, FeedMore, and Blue Ridge Area Food Bank this spring during the 13th annual Legal Food Frenzy. The firm’s Stafford office won in the Small Firm category in the Fredericksburg area.
The Legal Food Frenzy is an annual competition among Virginia law firms, law schools, and other legal professional organizations, that helps raise food and money for local food banks. It is run jointly by the office of the Attorney General, The Young Lawyers Division of The Virginia Bar Association, and the Federation of Virginia Food Banks. In this year’s competition, 161 participants raised 1.3 million pounds in the competition that ran from April 15 through April 26, 2019.
The goal of Legal Food Frenzy is to help meet the rising needs of Virginia communities and residents that are food insecure. Demand for food and grocery products continues to be an urgent need in Virginia, with food banks in Virginia experiencing record requests for help. Over the past thirteen years the Legal Food Frenzy has raised over 18 million pounds of food, and continues to be one of the largest food drives in Virginia.
“The true winners are those in our local communities who benefit from this worthy cause. We are so grateful for the generous giving throughout our offices that has led to this significant accomplishment,” said Allen Law Firm President Edward L. Allen.
An award was presented to Allen & Allen attorney David Williams at a ceremony on Tuesday, June 25 at the Attorney General’s Office in Richmond.
