Second-year Brandcenter students produced work for the latest cohort of local business accelerator Lighthouse Labs. Client projects included a brand identity and launch campaign for Icarus Medical, a Charlottesville-based knee and joint brace manufacturer; rebranding for Lumastic, a digital collaboration platform based in Charlottesville; and brand guidelines and a communication plan for MindCotine, a smoking cessation platform based in California. Arts & Letters Creative Co. made seven hires for new senior positions and promoted 20 employees. Senior hires include: Sara Kastner, creative operations director; Marcus Deliote, IT director; Cerra Buckholz, Jordan Choutaeu and Molly Jamison, creative directors; Jamie Yang, business director; and Keith Jamerson, executive producer.
Ralph Lee was promoted to inclusion director. Promoted to group business director are Allison Oxenreiter, Phil Williams and Suzanne Stovall. Promoted to business director are Emily Jackson, Hill Shore, Jen Makulowich, Julie Carroll and Kate Reaves. Zack Stergar and Zach Woottonwere promoted to strategy director. Lauren Albee and Neil Ramanan were promoted to creative director.
Promoted to senior producer are Jason Sheldon, Libbie Crane, Momo Berg-Munch, Nicole Lederman and Rachel Acors. Griffin Morrow and Mel Calabro were promoted to producer.
Elevation launched a promotional campaign for the National D-Day Memorial in Bedford. The campaign launched in late September and consisted of paid social media advertising on platforms such as Instagram and Facebook.
Ads featured taglines such as “A 50-acre cure for cabin fever,” “Drive to Bedford — be transported to Normandy” and “A place where you can move freely — and be moved by freedom.” As of late October, the campaign was credited with a 38 percent increase in website visits compared to the same time last year.
The King Agency won five awards in the Summit Creative Awards, which honors advertising for small- and medium-sized agencies nationwide. Awards received recognized work for First Team Honda, Touchstone Bank, Virginia Family Dentistry and Virginia VINE.
Workshop Digital added Cannadips as a client. The CBD company, based in California, will receive a combination of search-engine optimization and pay-per-click advertising services.
Madison+Main hired Marita Cardenas as an account executive and Kennedy Heidel as a junior communication specialist. Both previously interned with the agency. Cardenas is a 2005 VCU graduate and previously was marketing communications coordinator for Dominion Orthodontics. Heidel is a 2018 JMU grad and previously freelanced for UncommonGoods.
Rocket Pop Media supported the Rick Sharp Alzheimer’s Foundation’s efforts to pivot its annual Alzheimer’s Day in RVA to a virtual event. The agency created digital invitations, implemented a landing page on the foundation’s website with event details and registration, and will facilitate live streaming of the Nov. 17 event.
