The Martin Agency was named to Ad Age’s Agency A-List for 2021. Martin ranked No. 8 on the list, which was compiled by Ad Age staff from 852 agencies that applied.
Elizabeth Paul, Martin’s chief strategy officer, also was named CSO of the Year.
Ad Age remarked that Martin closed out 2020 without losing a client while winning 10 new accounts that contributed to the agency projecting at least 11 percent year-over-year revenue growth. It also noted standout spots for Buffalo Wild Wings, Geico and Oreo.
JLV Communications and Design Visions produced the 2020 annual report for Virginia’s Gateway Region. The report showcased JLV’s new branding for the economic development group and a new values and vision statement for the nonprofit. Design Visions, based in Midlothian, handled graphic design.
Addison Clark launched a new website for BoykoNapier, a Henrico-based law firm. The agency also is managing the firm’s digital marketing, with work including search engine optimization and advertising.
Alice Blue hired Lincoln Durham as a designer. He worked the past 15 years with Frito Lay handling character design, illustration, 3D and animation for the brand’s Chester Cheetah character.
Fable Branding + Advertising picked up four new clients. Compassion Animal Project, a Richmond-based nonprofit that helps fund lifesaving treatments for pets, hired the firm to provide market research, brand strategy, messaging and identity, website, and creative. Work for RoboKai, a robotics school in Midlothian, will include research, strategy, brand identity, website, social media and creative.
Fable is creating a brand strategy and messaging, website, social media and creative for Dr. Stephen Betchen, an author and relationship and sex therapist based in New Jersey. The agency also is providing research, strategy messaging and identity for Lynnhaven School in Henrico.
Fable completed branding for Northern Virginia Science Center, an interactive museum planned in Loudoun County.
The agency hired Sara Marsden as a senior marketing specialist and Jessica Diaz as a senior project manager. Marsden previously was marketing director at performing arts school SPARC. Kate Carpenter was promoted from associate creative director to creative director.
