The tobacco giant announced earlier this month its subsidiary UST LLC entered into a definitive agreement to sell Ste. Michelle Wine Estates to private equity firm Sycamore Partners Management for $1.2 billion in cash and assumption of certain Ste. Michelle liabilities. The deal is expected to close this year.

The Innsbrook-based staffing firm posted its second quarter earnings, reporting net income of $64.2 million on $974.9 million in revenue, up 31 percent and 17 percent, respectively, from the same period last year. Click here for the full report.

The armored car giant filed its quarterly earnings report for the period ended June 30. The company reported a net income of $23.9 million in its second quarter, which is an 85 percent increase compared to the company’s net income of $12.9 million in the same period last year.

C&F Financial (CFFI)

EVP Mohammad Shamim sold 22,434 shares at about $135 per share for a total of about $3 million. Shamim directly owns 9,520 shares of common stock.

Director Ronald E. Blaylock sold 12,500 shares at about $132 per share for a total of about $1.7 million. Blaylock directly owns 5,854 shares of common stock.

The Henrico-based retailer previously known as Lumber Liquidators appointed Ashish Parmar to its board of directors, effective July 22. Parmar, 45, currently serves as senior vice president and chief information officer for Tapestry, Inc., a New York-based owner of fashion brands such as Coach and Kate Spade. Parmar has a master’s degree from the New Jersey Institute of Technology and a bachelor’s degree from Penn State.

Medalist Diversified REIT (MDRR)

A subsidiary of the commercial real estate-focused REIT and PMI Greensboro LLC intends to sell Greensboro Airport Hampton Inn. Full announcement here.

The Goochland-based foods distributor announced a subsidiary issued and sold $1 billion in aggregate principal amount of its 4.250 percent senior notes due 2029. See here for more information.
