The Martin Agency produced a campaign for CarMax featuring Olympic sprinter Usain Bolt. The campaign, which included a video ad, put the used car retailer’s turnaround time for online appraisals up against Bolt in a race that was hosted live on Bolt’s Facebook page.

Maebird Marketing produced a set of TV ads for four local restaurants through a giveaway with WTVR CBS 6 to help restaurants struggling from the pandemic. Soul Taco, Pho Luca’s, Ruby Scoops and Abuelita’s won the NCAA Sweet 16-themed contest for the ads, which began airing the last week of July.

Addison Clark created two TV ads for Virginia Interventional and Vascular Associates in Richmond. The 30-second spots highlight procedures offered by VIVA physicians to treat common vascular conditions.

Madison+Main hired Rochelle Sommer as an account executive. The JMU grad has an MBA from VCU and was previously an account coordinator with Charles Ryan Associates.

Madison+Main launched Flwr Pwr, a cannabis marketing firm led by the agency’s Kent Brockwell, Molly Whitfield and Dave Saunders.

19Red, a production division of Fuel Creative led by Pam and Todd Hervey, produced and directed “Mending Walls: The Documentary,” a film documenting the Mending Walls RVA Mural Project that took place in Richmond in 2020. The hour-long documentary was co-produced by muralist Hamilton Glass, who created the Mending Walls project.

19Red’s George Parker was an associate producer on the film, which will premiere at the Richmond International Film Festival in September.

HeliumStudio redesigned the website for American Canoe Association, the national nonprofit supporting paddlesports. The web design firm also launched a new website for VirginiaBio, a nonprofit trade association promoting the state’s biotech industry.

Visual Appeal LLC created a vehicle wrap ad for Capital Area Health Network. The ad features a logo that the agency previously created. Visual Appeal added Training and Technical Assistance Center at JMU as a client. Work included a brand refresh, marketing collateral and website development.

The Idea Center is redesigning a website for Greater Richmond SCAN, a nonprofit focused on preventing and treating child abuse and neglect. The agency is building a website for Lonesome Pine Arts & Craft, a nonprofit based in Big Stone Gap.

Idea Center is redesigning a website for Youthful Beginnings Medi Spa in Mechanicsville. It’s also redesigning a website and making a video for Wrap Resins, a Richmond-based custom floors designer.

NDP created a media campaign for Chesapeake Bank. The campaign is aimed at supporting local businesses in communities the bank serves and includes billboard, print and radio ads with the message, “Shop like your community depends on it. Because it does.” The campaign also highlights an associated online business and organization directory called “The Buck Stays Here.”

BigTree designed a new logo and website for Blue Beacon Events, a local event planning company for nonprofits and service-oriented organizations.

The Hodges Partnership was hired by Virginia Press Association. Work will include research and communication campaigns to support the association and its members.

Hodges is working with local watchmaker Handley Watches to introduce the brand to consumer media on the local and national level. The agency is supporting product launches including a new women’s watch, holiday gift guide outreach and product awards submissions.
