The region’s high-end housing market stayed hot heading into summer, with four $2 million deals leading the pack of Richmond-area home sales in June.
Topping the list was 22 Tempsford Lane, a 5,300-square-foot house near the Country Club of Virginia that sold June 16 for $2.4 million.
The five-bedroom home with four bathrooms and two half-baths had been listed in mid-May for $2.3 million and was put under contract two days later.
Page George of Maison Real Estate Boutique had the listing, representing sellers Cole and Macon Clarkson. City property records show the Clarksons purchased the home in 2009 for $966,000. Cole Clarkson is a principal at real estate firm 7 Hills Advisors.
Property records list the buyers as Jeffrey and Kourtney Kidd. They were represented by Rebecca Winters with Shaheen, Ruth, Martin & Fonville Real Estate. Jeffrey Kidd is a managing director at investment bank Harris Williams.
Calls to George and Winters were not returned Tuesday.
Built in 1953, the French-inspired house includes a foyer with two-story staircase, French doors and a Tuscan-style kitchen with marble counters. The first-floor primary suite includes an en suite with a built-in linen press and closet.
An upstairs laundry is on the top floor along with a second primary and three other bedrooms. An English basement includes a wood-burning fireplace and opens to a screened bluestone terrace overlooking a three-tiered rear garden.
The city most recently assessed the half-acre property at $1.1 million.
Coming in at No. 2 for June was 326 Wickham Glen Drive, a 5,600-square-foot house in Goochland’s Wickham Glen neighborhood that sold June 2 for $2.3 million. The house was listed in late March for $2 million.
Joyner Fine Properties’ Nancy Cheely represented sellers Gary and April LeClair. Gary LeClair is a namesake and cofounder of defunct Richmond law firm LeClairRyan.
Property records list the buyers as J. Sheppard and Cynthia Haw. Shep Haw is a managing director at Capital Square. An agent for the Haws was not listed in the Central Virginia Regional Multiple Listing Service.
