Goochland supervisors to consider 20-lot subdivision
The Goochland County Board of Supervisors is slated to vote on final approval of a proposed 20-lot subdivision at its meeting Tuesday.
Oliver’s Trail LLC has filed a rezoning request to allow construction of 20 single-family homes on about 90 acres near the intersection of Newline and Cabin roads. The lots would be a minimum of 2 acres. The applicant wants to change the land’s zoning from general agricultural (A-1) to residential preservation (R-P) with proffered conditions, according to a staff report.
A public hearing will be held prior to the board’s vote. The Planning Commission previously voted to recommend approval, according to the staff report. Full agenda here.

Henrico completes Sandston library renovation
Henrico County completed a $411,000 renovation of its Sandston library branch, which had been closed since mid-September. A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held last week at the branch, which is the oldest in the county’s library system.
The renovation added A-frame shelving for browsing and book display, upgraded audio and video equipment, fresh carpeting and paint, and eco-friendly landscaping and resurfaced parking lots. An initial phase last year updated the building’s lighting to provide energy-efficient fixtures.
The branch will soon receive a computer work and play station similar to those designed for Fairfield Area Library, according to a release. The new Fairfield library opened in 2019.
The Sandston branch is located at 23 E. Williamsburg Road and is open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday-Wednesday, 1 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
