The Town of Ashland enlisted Norfolk-based CollectorStudios for a tourism spot that finishes out its “Center Your Universe” marketing campaign. The 80-second spot will be deployed on audio and video streaming platforms and is part of the campaign funded by a $20,000 grant from Virginia Tourism Corp. that’s included a new website, mobile app, photo assets and digital marketing.

Padilla promoted Rosalie Morton to senior vice president, channels. The role oversees the agency’s paid media, social media and media relations specialist teams. Morton was previously a vice president of channels.

JLV Communications led a marketing launch and media relations for WFLO-AM in Farmville as part of the community radio station’s revival under new ownership after it went dark in late 2021. JLV worked with Longstaff Creative on branding, B Creative Co. on website design and AA Communications on social media strategy.

Familiar Creatures was named agency of record for Richmond-based Sauer Brands, adding Kernel Season’s, Mateo’s Salsa and Spice Hunter as new accounts. Work for those brands is expected to be released later this year. The agency had previously been named AOR for Sauer’s Duke’s Mayonnaise. It also released a new spot for Crunch Fitness with production by Spang TV.

Familiar Creatures hired Joel Stiling as a senior copywriter, Kate Luxton as brand director and Scott Friske as head of production. Luxton was previously with Arts & Letters, and Friske worked at Hue & Cry and The Martin Agency. The agency promoted Salina Prak from copy intern to junior copywriter and Rhakim Smith from senior art director to associate creative director.

Shapes & Colors launched a website for Diablo Doughnuts RVA ahead of the store’s opening near Virginia Center Commons.

Xponent21 redesigned the website for Prism Contractors and Engineers, based in Williamsburg. The redesign highlights the firm’s products and services, company history, certifications, job openings and events.

93 Octane completed a rebrand for Saint Francis – Manchester, a nonprofit assisted living community in Richmond. The project included an updated name, new logo and website. The agency was hired by Richmond roofing company SlopePro to develop a new website and lead generation campaign to include search engine optimization, paid search and digital ads.

93 Octane also was selected as agency of record for MichieHamlett Attorneys at Law. Work for the Charlottesville-based firm will include a communications audit, print advertising, referral strategy and website refinements.

Studio Flatland completed a video for New York power company Con Edison and a rebrand for Orange & Rockland Utilities, also in New York. The Con Edison clip combines 2D and 3D animation and shows what takes place to restore customer power after storm damage to the grid. Sound design was handled by In Your Ear Studios.
