The Pitch: Advertising and marketing news for 2.15.23

Twenty-two Brandcenter alums worked on ads that aired during this year’s Super Bowl. Two of the ads, for Busch Light and DoorDash, were produced by The Martin Agency. Martin’s Jerry Hoak (Class of ‘05) worked on both ads, while Andrew Allen (‘19) worked on the Busch ad and Allison Apperson (‘16) and Danielle Delph (‘13) worked on DoorDash. Campfire & Co. is handling branding and signage design for Thalhimer Realty Partners’ Belleville Apartments that are under construction in Scott’s Addition.

Addison Clark completed a webpage for Flowers by Zoie as part of the launch of its flower deliveries business. The webpage includes an order form for personalized arrangements.

J Drake Web Design completed a website redesign for Black Optix Tint, an auto restyling and tint franchise with locations in metro Richmond. J Drake is providing website and brand work for St. Mark’s Preschool, Canal Custom Builders and Owen & Owens PLC.

The King Agency was selected as creative agency of record for SevenVenues, the City of Norfolk’s event venue arm. Work will include collateral materials to promote the SevenVenues brand and upcoming performances. Materials will range from brochures, signage and content for traditional ad platforms, to digital content for marketing campaigns, websites, e-blasts and social media channels.

Wildfire created an immersive brand experience for United States Playing Card Co., maker of Bicycle Cards. Work for the inaugural CardCon in California included event and strategic planning, environmental and merch design, website design and management, and social media content creation and management.

PRSA Richmond is accepting applications for its annual Virginia Public Relations Awards, to be held June 7 at Dominion Energy Center. The final deadline for applications is March 31. Entry details and more info are available here.

Advertising Club of Richmond is accepting submissions for this year’s Richmond Show. The deadline to submit is Feb. 17. More info here.

The ad club’s board named Wildfire’s Michelle Mead and Sam Cali of SBDigital as sponsorship co-chairs. Rebecca Frankel with Homes.com was named board copywriter.
