Atlantic Union Bankshares (AUB)

The parent of Atlantic Union Bank posted its fourth quarter and year-end earnings for 2023. Its net income for the quarter was $53.9 million, down from $67.9 million in the same period of 2022. The bank also declared a quarterly dividend of $0.32 per share of common stock payable on Feb. 23, to common shareholders of record as of Feb. 9.

C&F Financial (CFFI)

The parent of C&F Bank posted its fourth quarter and year-end earnings for 2022. Its full year net income was $23.7 million, down from $29.4 million in 2022. Net income for the quarter was $5 million, down from $10 million in the same period in 2022. Click here for the full report.

CarMax (KMX)

The used car retailer reported net earnings of $82 million in its most recent quarterly earnings report for the three-month period that ended Nov. 30. For the same period last year, the company reported net earnings of $37.6 million.

Vice President Jill Livesay sold 14,199 shares at about $71 per share for a total of $1 million. Livesay directly owns 9,068 shares of common stock.

Dominion (D)

The power utility in mid-January extended the maturity date of a $2.5 billion, 364-day term loan facility to July 12, 2024. The company entered into the loan facility in 2023.

Dynex Capital (DX)

The mortgage REIT reported a net income of $24.3 million for its fourth quarter 2023. For the year 2023, the company reported a loss of $6.1 million.

Genworth Financial (GNW)

Controller Cristina Ahn resigned from her position effective immediately on Jan. 18. Genworth said Ahn’s resignation is “not a result of any disagreement with the company on any matter relating to the company’s operations, policies or practices.”

Darren Woodell, who had been assistant controller since 2010, will succeed Ahn.

Medalist Diversified REIT (MDRR)

The commercial real estate-focused REIT announced a quarterly dividend of 1 cent per share of common stock for the fourth quarter 2023 and a quarterly dividend of 50 cents per share of the company’s 8 percent Series A cumulative redeemable preferred stock. Both dividends will be payable Feb. 2.

The REIT announced in late December it entered into a purchase agreement to sell its 84 percent stake in the Hanover Square North shopping center at 7230 Bell Creek Road. PMI Hanover Square LLC, the minority owner of the center, also entered into the same agreement to sell its 16 percent stake. The sales price of the center is $13 million.

New Market (NEU)

The petroleum-focused holding company recently completed a previously announced deal to buy AMPAC Intermediate Holdings, the parent company of American Pacific Corp., from Coyote Ultimate Holdings for $700 million.

AMPAC is a manufacturer of solid rocket motor additives and Haltron BrX, which is a fire extinguishing agent. Full announcement here.

SVP Jonathan Leon sold 7,500 shares at about $18 per share for a total of $135,000. Leon directly owns 83,213 shares of common stock.

Village Bank and Trust Financial (VBFC)

The Midlothian-based bank reported its fourth quarter and year-end earnings for 2023. Net income for the quarter was $1.69 million, compared to 2.16 million in the same period of 2022. Net income for full year 2023 was $1.91 million, down from $8.3 million in 2022. Click here for the full report.
