Overcoast Music + Sound worked on an ad for snack brand Cheetos. The studio won a gold and two bronzes at this year’s Richmond Show. The awards were in the production competition were for its work on Snyder’s of Hanover’s “Left Me For Pretzels,” Google’s “Contrails,” and Overwatch 2 trailer “Heroes Can.”
Overcoast also won multiple Webby awards and a One Show Gold Pencil for its work on The Martin Agency’s “Snoop Goes Smokeless” campaign for Solo Stove, and a People’s Voice Webby in the Advertising, Media & PR Augmented Reality category its work on Texas agency GSD&M’s “Sewer Delivery” campaign for Pizza Hut.
Shapes & Colors designed a new brand identity and website for Maggie Walker Community Land Trust.
BigTree launched websites for K-Tek Industries, a heavy equipment repair and maintenance firm in Doswell, and for Hazzard Electrical, a commercial electricians firm in Ashland.
Familiar Creatures was named creative agency of record for Chesapeake Bank. Work will include brand strategy and positioning. The agency developed a brand platform for Hampden-Sydney College. The brand centers on the phrase “That’s old school” and included sound from D.C.-based Cleod9 Music.

Not Bad” brand platform, which according to the agency led to the strongest first quarter in the fitness chain’s 35-year history. A 30-second spot called “Stuck” also involved Overcoast, Madbox and Los Angeles-based Community Films.
PRSA Richmond hosted this year’s Virginia Public Relations Awards. Best-in-shows went to Library of Virginia for its 200th anniversary campaign, and to Commonwealth PR for its work for Grace & Holy Trinity Church’s Hope for Ukraine concert.
Jill Vaughan of JLV Communications received this year’s Excellence in Public Relations award, Jason Lee of Greater Richmond Partnership received the Rising Star Award, and Taya Jarman of the Institute for Public Health Innovation received the Shining Star Award.
