Shortly after it secured a storefront in Henrico, a chain of stores that sells returned Amazon orders has already lined up a second location in the region.
Where Ya Bin is planning to open a 17,400-square-foot store at 1281 Carmia Way near Chesterfield Towne Center, according to Pam Strieffler of CBRE.
The Ohio-based retail chain buys truckloads of customer returns and overstocked products from Amazon and other online sellers, and then uses the items to stock its own stores.
Where Ya Bin locations feature 100 to 120, 8-foot-by-4-foot bins packed with small appliances, clothing, beauty products, baby items and more sold at a discounted price that decreases throughout the week.
Items in a store are priced at $14 on Fridays and then drop in price until they’re marked 25 cents each on Thursday. Where Ya Bin locations don’t accept cash, and instead require payment through credit and debit cards as well as Google Pay and Apple Pay.
Where Ya Bin signed its lease on the Carmia Way location in August. It will open next to The Floor Store in the Chesterfield Marketplace shopping center.
It’s unclear when the Chesterfield location of Where Ya Bin will open. The company didn’t respond to a request for comment Thursday.
Strieffler and Ian Webster of CBRE handled lease negotiations on behalf of the tenant. Jim Ashby of Thalhimer handled the deal on behalf of the landlord.
Where Ya Bin’s other upcoming local outpost is at Quioccasin Station Shopping Center, near Regency in Henrico County. There the retailer has taken over a portion of the former Food Lion in the center.
Where Ya Bin opened its first location in South Carolina in September 2022. The company has eight stores across five states, according to its website.
