A crowd of nearly 500 was treated to one of the best views in the city last week: an up-close glimpse of the new Allianz Amphitheater at Riverfront with the river flowing in the background.
The first Richmond BizSense Hard Hat Happy Hour of 2025, presented by Sands Anderson, gave the local business community a sneak peek of what concertgoers will see when the new music venue opens in early June.

Wonderful weather contributed to the best planned and executed Bizsense Happy Hour ever! Congratulations to the staff for pulling this together. I had no idea 500 attended because the lines for food and drink were never an issue. The Amphitheatre is gorgeous with the backdrop of CoStar’s new building. It’s difficult to recall how that site was once the States’ men’s prison.
The CoStar tower as the backdrop is absolutely epic. The combo of the amphitheater with the amazing recent ramp-up of the skyline gives RVA a real “big city” look & feel that in-and-of-itself could be a great marketing tool going forward.
BTW – nice to see you in at least one of the pictures!
Remember this statement- ““We’ll be working with our business and residential neighbors to make sure that we are a good partner and good neighbor,” she says. “For us to be successful, we need everyone around us to be happy with us, so it’s something that we are very aware of, and we’ll go through all of the proper procedures to make sure that we are putting together the best plan possible.” as quoted in Richmond Magazine article “New Groove”.
