The planning commission holds a public hearing Tuesday on a draft update to the county’s comprehensive plan. An additional hearing is scheduled March 19. Supervisors next meet at 6 p.m. Feb. 27. Public hearing items include Traditions of America’s proposal to develop a 250-home 55-and-up community on 104 acres at 10600 Hollyberry Drive.

Matoaca District supervisor Steve Elswick said he will not seek a third term on the board. The former county firefighter and fire chief has served on the board since 2011.

Supervisors meet at 2 p.m. Wednesday to hear presentations related to the proposed budget for fiscal year 2020. Agenda here.

The planning commission meets at 7 p.m. Thursday. Business on the agenda includes an expedited public hearing on a request to rezone 20 acres at Toms Half Acre Drive north of Bienvenue Road from agriculture to agricultural residential use. Also, HHHunt seeks an exception from the Hanover County Chesapeake Bay Preservation Ordinance related to homes it plans to build at the Caldwell Park mixed-use development. Full agenda here.

The planning commission meets at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday. Business on the consent agenda includes a request from Larson Development to rezone an industrial property at 1206 Dinwiddie Ave. to mixed-use business district, and to authorize the city’s purchase of property at 1617 Brook Road to relocate its parking enterprise operations. The Richmond Redevelopment and Housing Authority board meets at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday. The board will announce the selection of a new CEO. The board meets at the RRHA office at 901 Chamberlayne Parkway.
