The county released a free mobile app aimed at helping residents and others engage with Henrico government. Developed by the county’s information technology department, the app allows users to check upcoming events and news about the county, receive important notices, contact departments and find information on parks and government facilities, and watch a livestream of board meetings. Shockoe Alliance will hold its first community meeting April 15 at 6 p.m. at Main Street Station. The group of city staff, preservation experts and community members was formed to focus on ensuring a collaborative approach to initiatives of cultural and historical significance in the Shockoe Bottom area. The group is working with the newly-formed History and Culture Commission in its recommendations and implementation of plans for the area.
