The Martin Agency named Elizabeth Paul as chief strategy officer. A 10-year Martin vet, Paul previously was at MullenLowe, where she was a three-time winner of the Jay Chiat Award and worked with brands such as Burger King, Jet Blue, E-Trade and Grey Goose. Chief Growth Officer Michael Chapman previously dually served as Martin’s CSO.

Lewis Media Partners hired three new employees. Katy Holder is an account lead and was previously at The Martin Agency, where she worked on account and project management for brands, including UPS and Discover Financial Services.

Lauren Onestak is a digital analyst at Lewis Media. The UR grad previously was an operations manager at Virginia Commercial Finance. Liza Lewis, a recent Randolph-Macon College grad, is a channel specialist and previously interned at the agency.

LRL Racing selected three students for its sports marketing internship
program: Devyn Alston, a Longwood University graduate; Mary Sciortino, a senior at Christopher Newport University; and Kali Riggleman, a junior at CNU.

Evergib was hired to redesign the website for Richmond Ballet. Work will include brand strategy, messaging, web design and development. The new site will launch later this year.

Novus Creative was hired by Hanover County Public Schools to refresh its Hanover Promise logo and create marketing materials to promote the initiative.

Addison Clark is developing a website for Ohio-based Kreller Group’s brand protection division. The agency also will provide ongoing marketing services for the international due diligence consulting firm.

Fable hired Hilda Hosseini as junior art director and Shannon Nelson as junior copywriter. Both are recent VCU graduates. Hosseini was named in Graphic Design USA magazine’s 2020 “Students to Watch” list. Nelson was selected for the 4A’s Foundation’s Multicultural Advertising Intern Program.

Fable promoted Kate Carpenter to associate creative director. She was previously a senior art director.

The Hodges Partnership was hired by Virginia’s Community Colleges. Work will include refining the user experience of the college system’s Credits2Careers portal, and updating its branding and content.

Hodges is working with Enrichmond Foundation to provide project-based PR and community relations support. Work includes promotion of cleanups at Evergreen Cemetery and a master plan unveiling event for the cemetery’s restoration. The firm also conducted a media training and messaging session for leaders at Elbit Systems of America – Night Vision, a Roanoke-based night-vision products manufacturer.

Locally based John Romeo & Associates rebranded as Romeo Company. The rebrand includes a new logo and website.

Madison+Main signed Pinnacle Living as a client. Work for the Glen Allen-based organization’s senior living communities will include brand and marketing consultation, developing a media and marketing plan, and offering ongoing advertising, branding and PR support.

Elevation launched a redesigned website for Children’s Museum of Richmond. The new site includes improved navigational tools for information about the nonprofit’s four locations and respective services.

Red Orange Studio completed a website refresh for Richmond Sports Massage. The agency is wrapping up branding work for The Estate at River Run with new stationery and other print collateral.

Ad Bowl 2020 color edit

Advertising Club of Richmond held its annual Ad Bowl at In Your Ear Studios on Feb. 4. A panel reviewed seven Super Bowl commercials, with a consensus that brands were counting on leveraging celebrity status for this year’s spots and most of the ads were pointed at millennial audiences.

Panelists included Authentic strategy director Kate Atkisson, Traits Agency CEO Quincy Cherry, Martin Agency creative director Mik Manulik, Poolhouse co-founder Tim O’Toole, and VCU professor Peyton Rowe and assistant professor Jay Adams.

AMA-Richmond hosted a panel discussion called “Honoring Black Voices in Advertising” on Feb. 20 at UR’s Jepson Alumni Center. Panelists included Ron Carey, CEO of Tilt Creative + Production CEO; Jeff Wilson, VP of public relations with Padilla; and Derek Walker, founder of South Carolina-based Brown & Browner Advertising. Savon Sampson with EAB moderated the panel.
