A graduate of the University of Virginia with a Master of Architecture, Anna Allen received her Bachelor of design from the University of Florida. She most recently worked as an intern architect and marketing coordinator for Shriver and Holland Associates in Norfolk. Anna joined the firm as a project designer.
An alumnus of Virginia Commonwealth University, Erin Brunner received her Master of Fine Arts in Interior Environments there after completing her undergraduate work at James Madison University. She also holds a Master of Arts in teaching from JMU. She joined the firm as an interior designer.
Renee O’Neal joined the firm as project accountant. She received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Virginia Commonwealth University and most recently worked as the office manager at Cornerstone Architects in Richmond.
David Palmer joined the firm as project designer. He received a Bachelor of Science from the University of Texas at Arlington before receiving a Master of architecture from Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago. Most recently, he worked at NORR Illinois.
Kristen Dee joined the firm as an interior designer. She is a graduate of Meredith College in Raleigh, N.C. and most recently worked at Trail Blazers as an assistant manager.

Debra R. Pollock has joined the Private Wealth Management Division of SunTrust Bank as a vice president. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.
SunTrust named Todd Connor has been named vice president and At Work Business Development Officer. Connor received his Master of Sciences degree from Shenandoah University.
Commercial Real Estate
Braxton Pruitt joined StreamCo LLC as an assistant asset manager. He graduated from the Culverhouse College of Commerce and Business Administration at The University of Alabama in 2009 with a B.S. in Finance with a concentration in Real Estate. Before joining StreamCo, LLC, Braxton was involved in the hospitality industry, working for the Four Season Hotels and Resorts. Braxton began his career in real estate as an intern for S.J. Collins Enterprises in 2008.
Consulting
Paige Smith is a senior consultant of Dominion Analytics. Prior to joining Dominion Analytics, Paige held a number of positions in the health insurance industry. Most recently, she served as senior vice president and financial consultant for a global insurance brokerage firm. She has a B.S. in mathematics from James Madison University.
Higher Education
Two local business leaders have been appointed as the 2012-13 Robins School of Business executives-in-residence at theUniversityofRichmond. John Sherman Jr., retired vice chairman, CEO and president of the investment advisory firm Scott & Stringfellow, and Bob Piazza, former vice president of human resources and talent manager of science and technology company Danaher Corp., will serve as mentors, available to meet with students and provide guidance in specific professional fields.
Sherman attended Princeton University and has an MBA from the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia. Piazza attendedPaceUniversityand Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He has taught as an adjunct instructor of management in the Robins School MBA program since 2011.
UR’s Office of Alumni and Career Services has hired Frank Allen as associate director of career services and also filled two assistant director positions. Anna Todaro and Jesse Wingate will join the office to provide career advising.
Allen most recently was vice president of real estate investment banking at SunTrust Robinson Humphrey. He previously was vice president, international corporate finance, at Wachovia Capital Markets. He holds a B.S. in business administration from UR and a M.B.A. from Vanderbilt University.
Todaro received a master’s degree in in higher education and student affairs in 2012 from the University of South Carolina. She earned a B.A. in communications studies from University of North Carolina Wilmington.
Wingate previously served as assistant director for career services at Dartmouth College. He received a B.S. in psychology from St. Lawrence University in 2007 and a master’s degree in higher education and student affairs administration from University of Vermont in 2009.

Midlothian Village based law firm Winslow & McCurry hired Erika R. Encinas as an associate. She attended the University of Richmond School of Law, earning her Juris Doctor with a Certification of Concentration in Family Law.

The YWCA of Richmond appointed Linda Tissiere as its new CEO. She succeeds Cassandra Emery who served in the role since 2009 and stepped down to spend more time with her family. Tissiere was most recently the vice president of Stakeholder Engagement and Integrated Communications for Luck Companies (formerly Luck Stone Corp.) She holds a B.A. in Spanish from Indiana University and a M.A. in journalism from Ohio State University.

Robert R. Kaplan Jr., managing partner at Kaplan Voekler Cunningham & Frank was appointed by Gov. McDonnell to the Board of Housing and Community Development, of the Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development. Kaplan will serve a 4-year term.
Certifications
Erich Strohhacker, PE, PTOE is now certified as a PTOE (Professional Traffic Operations Engineer). There are currently only about 2,500 PTOE’s in the US. This certification is a demonstration of specialized knowledge, skill and ability in traffic operations engineering. Erich is the Transportation Team Leader at Bowman Consulting.
Steve Schmidt, PE is now licensed in Virginia as a PE (Professional Engineer). Steve is a Traffic Engineer at Bowman Consulting.
Kyle Springs is now registered with the Society of Wetland Scientists as a PWS (Professional Wetland Scientist). Kyle is a Senior Project Manager in the environmental group at Bowman Consulting.
