Village Bank’s longtime leader Tom Winfree has relinquished the role of president and will step down as CEO upon retirement in six months. Winfree will remain on the banks’s board of directors and as chair of Village Bank Mortgage Co.
Collegiate School’s Head of School Keith Evans will leave after the 2013-14 school year. Evans, who became Collegiate’s head of school in 1999, has accepted the position of president of The Westminster Schools in Atlanta, Ga., and will begin serving July 1, 2014.
Law
Justin Laughter has joined Threshold Counsel as a partner, where he will add to the firm’s intellectual property, startups, and outside general counsel practice. Laughter’s work focuses on trademark, copyright, corporate, and entertainment matters.
Joseph P. McMenamin has opened McMenamin Law Offices, concentrating on the law of health care and the life sciences. A former partner at McGuireWoods, McMenamin has also been named CEO of Clinical Advisory Services, which advises hospitals and physicians on Medicare reimbursement matters, and principal consultant at Venebio Group, a life sciences consultancy.
Banking
Village Bank named Bill G. Foster as its new president. Foster, who had been chief credit officer at the bank, will become the new CEO in six months.
Village also said Jay E. Hendricks will take the role of chief credit officer, pending regulatory approval. He was most recently a
senior vice president at SunTrust.
Chris R. Hairston-White joined Wells Fargo as a senior business relationship manager, vice president. Hairston-White previously
worked with Bank of America and has 10 years of banking experience. She is a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University.
Insurance
Jenni Lee Crocker has joined Marsh in Richmond as a senior vice president focusing on client development. Crocker spent the last 13 years at Ernst & Young as a director and sales professional advising large multi-national clients in the areas of financial, construction, transactional, political, and fraud risks.

Fahrenheit Finance announced the following hires:
Sheila Walters, has been added as an interim or on-going fractional CFO/controller, as well as serving as the firm’s internal director of finance and administration. Walters’ 28 years of experience includes financial management, operating & capital budgeting, internal control management. She is a graduate of Virginia Tech.
MaryBeth Andre has joined Fahrenheit Finance as a fractional accounting manager and currently serves several of the firm’s fractional financial management clients. Andre has more than 20 years of accounting experience. She was previously a project accountant for Baskervill.
Donna Labrador joined Fahrenheit as an accounting consultant. Labrador has worked for a variety of small and very large corporations, and her areas of focus have included general ledger, forecasting and budgeting, accounts payable, S-Ox compliance and process improvement. She is a Randolph-Macon College graduate.
Amy Philipp was added as accounting and office administrator to support clients and manage the firm’s new office. Philipp graduated from James Madison University and previously worked as a marketing specialist in the healthcare industry.
Non-profits
The Virginia Association of Museums (VAM) appointed two new board members.
Karen L. Daly will serve as VAM’s director for the District of Columbia. She is the executive director of Dumbarton House, the national headquarters and museum of The National Society of The Colonial Dames of America. Daly is a graduate of The George Washington University.
Vanessa Thaxton-Ward was named VAM’s director for the Tidewater region. She currently serves as curator of collections for the Hampton University Museum. Thaxton-Ward is a College of William and Mary graduate.

B2B Solutions announced the following hires:
Larry Thompson has been hired as vice president of business development. Thompson is the former vice president of development for Easter Seals/United Cerebral Palsy of Virginia and North Carolina. He will man B2B’s new office in Raleigh, N.C.
Lon Zanetta has been hired as a fractional CIO. Zanetta is a former CIO of the Federal Reserve System and former vice president and CIO for Alltel Communications.
Jerry Hodge has been hired as a fractional CIO. Hodge is a former CIO of Hamilton Beach Brands and also a former senior project manager at Capital One.
Higher education
Virginia Commonwealth University has appointed Gardner Campbell to serve as the university’s new vice provost for learning innovation and student success. Campbell previously served as the director of professional development and innovative initiatives and an associate professor of English at Virginia Tech. He is a graduate of Wake Forest and the University of Virginia.

Acorn Sign Graphics appointed T.J. Daly as executive vice president of sales and marketing. Prior to joining Acorn Sign Graphics, Daly worked with a startup team that focused on e-marketing for small businesses. Daly is a graduate of Washington and Lee University and the University of Virginia.
