C&F Financial Corp. (CFFI)

The parent company of C&F Bank reported its third quarter earnings, with net income of $3.5 million for the  three months. That was up from $3.3 million in net income in the same period of 2014. Its total assets grew to $1.37 billion, up from $1.31 billion. Total deposits were up slightly from $1 billion to $1.04 billion. Total loans were $840.7 million, up from $792.1 million. Its total nonperforming assets, made up of bad loans and foreclosed real estate, stood at $5.32 million, down from $6.5 million a year ago.

Dynex Capital (DX)

The mortgage REIT reported its third quarter earnings for 2015. Assets through Sept. 30 totaled $3.92 billion, up from $3.68 billion at the end of 2014. Liabilities totaled $3.4 billion, compared to $3.08 billion at the close of last year. The company reported a third-quarter loss of $39 million in net income to common shareholders.

Eastern Virginia Bankshares (EVBS)

The parent of EVB reported its third quarter financials with net income for the three-month period of $2.01 million, up from $1.28 million a year ago. Its total assets reached $1.24 billion, up from $1.181 billion in the same period of 2014. Total loans grew to $861.39 million, compared to $706.39 million. Total deposits were $974.8 million, up from $821.47 million. Its total nonperforming assets stood at $7.19 million at quarter’s end, compared with $11.02 million a year ago.

NewMarket (NEU)

The company reported its third quarter earnings for 2015. Net sales totaled $540 million, down from $589 million the same three months in 2014. Net income totaled $62 million, compared to $56 million the same time last year. Year-to-date net income totaled $184 million, up from $181 million last year through September.

Owens & Minor (OMI)

The company filed its third-quarter earnings report. Net revenue totaled $2.47 billion, up from $2.38 billion the same quarter last year. Net income totaled $28 million, up from $7 million the same time last year. Year-to-date net income totaled $71 million, compared to $52 million last year through September.

Tredegar (TG)

Gamco Investors Inc. et al sold 500 shares of common stock at $14.86 per share for a total of $7,430.
