Scott’s Addition-based Babylon Micro-Farms, which sells and leases modular vertical indoor micro-farms to businesses and individuals, is one of 10 finalists for the Verizon Climate Resiliency Prize.

The new store’s name, Dog House Cat, is inspired by the “Jeopardy!” before-and-after category, owner Ashley Smiley said.
The top Richmond-area firm clocked in at No. 244 nationally, boasting a three-year revenue growth rate of 2,285 percent.
“I definitely feel like it’s a mix of mad scientist meets the creative genius that Doug was,” said Chloe Kottwitz, who recently took over ownership of the neon sign shop from longtime owner Doug Solyan.
“You have a lot of places that have an oatmeal cream pie, but this is kind of the first of its kind, where it’s about oatmeal cream pies and it’s about elevating those specifically.”
