Said to be the largest public hunting preserve on the East Coast, the sprawling property in Goochland has hosted an annual hunt for Benedictine Schools of Richmond and quail hunts for local menswear brand Ledbury.

The sale in Hampton Gardens topped Richmond’s previous priciest seller at CCV and came two days after the most expensive deal in the region in years.

Since expanding into the Richmond region last October, the company has purchased 14 homes in Chesterfield, Henrico and the city, according to a BizSense review of property records. 

The property and its 21,000-square-foot mansion was purchased through a Florida-based LLC. It was previously the home of Rick Sharp, the late Circuit City CEO and CarMax founder.
