The founder of one of the coolest startups in the country, Tim Westergren, spoke in Richmond on Monday night. There is a great video up at ReadWriteWeb.
Westergren gave some classic startup-esque answers about how the business model had to be flexible. The company almost went belly-up in 2007. Staff had to wait months to get paid. Amazing stuff, and reassuring for us at RBS, since Pandora is now almost entirely ad-supported.
Pandora is a website that creates a custom playlist based on a song or musician you like. If you haven’t tried it, you should. It’s incredible stuff.
Sadly, no one from BizSense was at the talk. I’d be interested to hear from readers about how it was even though I watched the video.
