There has been a really dynamic debate in the comments section of one of our stories about whether a name-calling boss is just doing her job, or is harming her department and her tax-payer funded mission.
Comments on a recent story about a City of Richmond director who several times allegedly called an employee an “idiot” equally defend her, and lambaste her leadership style.
A handful of comments state that the employee should be tougher.
I’d be curious how other business owners feel about this scenario. Is it ok to call an employee an “idiot” in front of other workers? Does that harsh form of leadership work?
Or maybe the employee needs to be tougher. Are we too sensitive these days?
