This station for the Number 1 Bus recently opened on West Broad Street. It only costs $20 for an overnight bus ride to New York City, less than a cab ride from Shockoe Bottom to Short Pump. I’m really not sure how they make money, since you can only cram so many people on the bus and gas must be expensive. I took a different Chinatown Bus last year and it only took five hours, even though it made lots of mysterious stops along the way.

$20 fee probably doesn’t cover the insurance. so I’m wondering whether it is legal to operate.
I don’t know about this one, but its not uncommon to have people standing on the one that goes from DC to NYC, and if you think they run the A/C you’re kidding yourself.
It’ stated ‘Fully insured’ on its web site. Maybe I should take the ride.
