Here at the BizSense News Lair, we have been stumped as to what exactly the countdown clock at www.rvacreates.com is counting down to.
BizSense first spotted the site last week with 8 days remaining until, presumably, something will happen. Now there is less than 4 hours left.
Not much information could be found by checking some domain registry databases, except that the site was registered in mid-August. The only other clue is I remember seeing the RVA downtown logo on the website on a metal sign that was displayed inconspicuously on Brown’s Island during the Richmond Folk Festival.
Any out there want to take a guess as to what this is all about? You got about 3 hours and 44 minutes and 2 seconds left.
Update
As of 5:34 P.M., thirty minutes after the countdown ended, the ticker has stopped at zero. Nothing appears to have changed. Not sure if there has been a glitch, if this is a cruel joke, or I am missing something.
Update 2
After weeks of anticipation the countdown is complete. No big revelations here, but a pretty fun web-based widget that let’s you upload any image to use as the background. The RVA template is overlaid over top and you can change the subtext if you would like. Below is a sample of my brief experimentation with it using a picture from the BizSense pics archive. You can see there is lot’s of potential, and it all seems to be in the spirit of cheerleading the city.
Still no clue on who is behind this though.

Does it have something to do with inLight? I think it starts on Friday though.
