The annual Enterprising Women of Excellence award ceremony, this year held at the Omni Hotel in Richmond, recognizes women for their work in the NAWBO organization, their work in the community, and their work in their business.

“It’s to highlight successful women in the Richmond community, and to more importantly raise funds for NAWBO,” said Kelli Meadows, president of the Richmond chapter.

Gail Johnson, founder of the Rainbow Station franchise, was given the Entrepreneur of the Year award which is given to a business owner that’s operated for five years or more with strong financial performance.

Tanya Cummings, owner of job placement company Momentum Resources, won the Rising Star Award, given to an entrepreneur that’s been in business for at least two years with consistent revenue growth.

Susan Gunn, president of Working Dynamics, was honored with the Community Service Leader award and Angie Furbee, owner of Accent Professional Recruiting, was awarded NAWBO Member of the Year.
