More jobs zoom-zoom into Chesterfield

mazdaMazda will add 21 full-time jobs to its engine re-manufacturing facility in Chesterfield.

The Japanese automaker announced that it would invest $2.3 million to add an automatic transmission line to its engine facility at the Enterchange @ Walthall on Ruffin Mill Road.

The company already employs 41 full-time employees there, plus 29 temporary workers.

Mazda expects the new line will disassemble and rebuild up to 3,0000 automatic transmissions for the Mazda3 and Mazada5 automobiles. Currently the facility refurbishes a special rotary engine for its RX-8 sports car, among other engine parts.
