The Fan House restaurant, at Robinson Street and Floyd Avenue, is going on its third week of being closed for vacation, but speculation has been swirling on local blogs that the business is kaput.
BizSense spoke with neighborhood sources who said they heard the restaurant is for sale.
Owner Sunny Zhao this year found himself at odds with some neighbors over whether or not he was allowed to maintain a downstairs bar. After trying to make his bar legal with with the city, Zhao ended up removing it.
The spot has been home to several restaurants in recent years, including Verbena, Carlton’s and Konstas. The turnover earned the building a spot in our story about Richmond’s cursed locations.
