One of the country’s largest commercial printers is shutting down its plant in Henrico County.
Wisconsin-based Quad/Graphics announced plans to cease operations at its 225,000-square-foot plant on Impala Drive. About 125 employees work at the Richmond plant, which will continue full production until December.
The company prints newspaper advertising inserts, magazines and other materials and has 60 facilities throughout North America, Latin America and Europe. It also announced it was closing a larger plant in Stillwater, Okla.
The closure of the two plants is part of the company’s continued process to intergrate the operations of Worldcolor, a competitor that was acquired in July 2010.
