Accounting firm does a little subtraction

KeiterrebrandingA local accounting firm has crunched the numbers and wants to be known by one name instead of five.

Keiter, Stephens, Hurst, Gary & Shreaves is now just Keiter.

“For years, clients and everyone we do business with referred to us as Keiter,” said Fonda Lang, the marketing manager at the firm.

The name change is also part of a larger rebranding effort that includes a new logo and a new slogan: “Your Opportunity Advisors.”

The firm launched the brand to staff members in October and has a new website to match.

Robert Keiter, for whom the firm is now named, is retired but still helps promote the firm. Carroll Hurst and Ted Gary, both founding partners, are still at the firm. Bill Stephens and Bub Shreaves have not been with Keiter for more than 10 years.

Keiter has offices in Richmond and Charlottesville and has 130 employees. Lang said about 121 people work at the local office in Innsbrook, with 20 employees coming on this year and nine hires to be added next year.

Carroll Hurst said the firm is branching out into some new areas.

“We see a continued interest in the acquisitions in the healthcare industry and in various sectors of the distribution and logistics industry,” he said, adding that the firm is growing to serve startups that need to raise venture capital.

Keiter has been working with local agency Elevation Advertising on the rebranding process since May.

Congratulations Bob!!! You hit the mark as your quiet leadership has been a great influence in the firm’s success. Also less time involved in referring clients to the firm. “Keiter” says it all!
