Donna Gregory will leave her position as a writer and editor at the Chesterfield Observer effective Feb. 1. She will continue to work for the paper from Delaware, compiling the Arrest Watch column and stories for The Health Journals.

Michael E. Lacy was promoted to partner at Troutman Sanders in the financial services litigation group. Lacy joined Troutman Sanders in 2004. Prior to joining the firm, Lacy was a law clerk to Lynn N. Hughes, U.S. District Judge for the Southern District of Texas. He attended law school at William and Mary went to the University of Virginia as an undergraduate.

Megan C. Rahman was promoted to partner at Troutman Sanders in the white collar & government investigations group. Rahman joined Troutman Sanders in 1999 as an associate and became counsel in 2010. Before joining Troutman Sanders, Rahman was a law clerk for James R. Spencer, U.S. District Judge for the Eastern District of Virginia. She attended law school at the University of Richmond and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill as an undergraduate.

Erin S. Whaley was promoted to partner at Troutman Sanders in the healthcare group. Whaley joined the firm in 2004. She went to University of Virginia as an undergraduate and for law school.

Jason H. Ballum was promoted to partner at Reed Smith. He has a practice focused on the representation of public school boards.

Tennille Checkovich was promoted to partner at McGuireWoods. Checkovich is in the business & securities litigation practice group.

Jeff Starling was promoted to partner at McGuireWoods . He is in the toxic tort & environmental litigation practice group.

Lisa M. Williams was promoted to partner at McGuireWoods. She is in the public finance practice group.

William A. Gray was elected as a shareholder for Sands Anderson. Gray works as a business and creditors’ rights lawyer for the firm. He attended law school at Western State University and Virginia Tech as an undergraduate.

Allan Cruickshanks joined BB&T’s Capital Markets /investment banking group as an associate. He previously worked for Anderson & Strudwick.

Lee Chapman was named president and chief operating officer of Davenport & Company. He succeeds Coleman Wortham III who has been the firm’s president for 27 years. Wortham will stay on as chairman and CEO. Chapman joined Davenport in 1995 and was appointed head of retail sales in September. He attended the University of Virginia.

Jan Ernst joined Valderas & Fishel as a staff accountant. Most recently, Ernst worked for Tour Plan International. She attended James Madison University.

Dan Sutton was named director of business development at the Martin Agency. He has served as the interim director since April. Sutton has been at The Martin Agency for three years, most recently serving as the account team leader on Tylenol.

Christie Newman was named digital operations chief for Richmond Media Group’s non-newspaper sites. She was previously been site director for Richmond.com. Newman joined Media General, and Richmond Media Group, in October 2008.

Jeffrey Graves, joined PartnerMD’s Executive Health & Wellness Center. Graves was formerly with The Greenbrier Clinic. He attended medical school at Medical University of South Carolina and Duke University as an undergraduate.

Michael Diiorio joined Neudesic as regional practice director of connected systems. He most recently served as manager/architect for CapTech Ventures, Inc.

Viola O. Baskerville, was named interim chief executive officer of the Girl Scouts of the Commonwealth of Virginia. Most recently, Baskerville was Virginia secretary of administration in Gov. Timothy M. Kaine’s Cabinet.

Scott Ruth was named president of the Richmond Assocation of Realtors. Ruth is a broker at Long and Foster. He attended the University of Charleston.

Jennifer Maginnis joined the Central Virginia Electrical Contractors Association to administer the CVECA Electrical Apprenticeship Program.
