Dennis Ryan, a founding partner of LeClairRyan, will retire from the firm next month and become executive vice president of Health Diagnostic Laboratory. Ryan formed the company with Gary LeClair in 1988. You can read more about it in an RBS story here.

Amalia Melis will leave Call Federal Credit Union effective Feb. 23. She will join PartnerMD as the marketing manager.

Law

Angela M. Haen joined Boleman Law Firm as a bankruptcy attorney. She was previously with the Parmenter law firm. Haen attended William Mitchell College of Law.

Real estate

Shane Finnegan was promoted to vice president of construction and development at Gumenick Properties. He was previously director of construction and development and joined Gumenick Properties in 2005. Finnegan has an MBA from Virginia Commonwealth University and also attended Virginia Tech.

Carlos Cadavid was promoted to controller for property management and operations at Gumenick Properties. He previously served as assistant controller for property management and operations and joined the company in 1997. Cadavid attended St. Thomas University.

Bill Agee was promoted to controller for construction and development at Gumenick Properties. He formerly served as assistant controller for home building and joined the company in 2005. Agee attended Virginia Tech.

Heather M. Long was promoted to director of off-campus student and single-family housing at Cushman & Wakefield | Thalhimer. Long started with Thalhimer in 2000.

Erin Dawson joined Coldwell Banker Johnson & Thomas as an associate broker.

Architecture

John Michael Currie joined Baskervill as vice president of the health-care group. He has an MBA from the University of Liverpool in England and attended Clemson University as an undergraduate.

Allison Lynch joined Baskervill as marketing manager. She most recently worked for Ledgewood Construction in South Portland, Maine. Lynch attended Boston College.

Megan Johnson joined Baskervill as an architect. She has a master’s from Taubman College. She also attended the University of Michigan and the University of Virginia.

Will Payne joined Baskervill as project designer. He most recently worked for Stettler Design. Payne has a master’s from the University of Washington and attended the University of Idaho as an undergraduate.

Engineering

John Paul Goode joined Dunlap & Partners Engineers as an electrical engineer. He was previously employed by the Defense Department and the Navy. He attended Virginia Military Institute.

Insurance

Christopher “Scott” Martin joined RCM&D as a trainee. Martin attended Virginia Tech.

Information technology

Julie Gibbs joined EASY Software as a project manager. Gibbs was formerly with Bond International Software. She attended Longwood University and the University of New Haven.

Marketing

Joe Alexander was promoted to executive creative director at The Martin Agency. Alexander has been a part of the creative department since 1991. Prior to joining the agency, Alexander worked at TBWA\Chiat\Day.

Keith Ramsey joined PUNCH as a graphic designer. He attended Virginia Commonwealth University.

Design

Dave Mangum joined CREATIVE as modular construction champion.

Erin Webb was promoted to associate at 3north. Webb has been at the firm for four years. She attended Virginia Tech.

Damon Pearson joined 3north. Prior to joining 3north, Pearson was an owner of Tektonics Design Group. He has a master’s from Princeton and attended the University of Virginia as an undergraduate.

Morrigan Smith was promoted to director at 3north. Smith joined 3north more than five years ago. Smith attended Virginia Commonwealth University.

Jill Nolt, was promoted to director at 3north. Nolt joined 3north more than seven years ago. She previously worked at SMBW. She has a master’s from the University of Virginia.

Scott Ukrop was promoted to director of communications at 3north. Ukrop joined 3north in 2010. Ukrop has a master’s from the University of Virginia and attended William & Mary as an undergraduate.

Ricky Eckert joined CarLotz. Eckert was previously with Enterprise Rent-A-Car.

Lemuel (Lem) C. Stewart, Jr. was promoted to executive vice president and director of business services at Advantus Strategies. Stewart joined Advantus in 2010 as a consulting director. Stewart was formerly with Executive Partners. He attended East Tennessee State University and the Richard Bland College of the College of William & Mary.

Energy

George W. Bennett joined the Integrated Global Services as vice president of international sales. Most recently, Bennett served as vice president of international sales for Paragon Airheater Technologies.

Kent Jennings Brockwell joined Getloaded as an electronic communications specialist. Brockwell was previously a senior copywriter with Capital One. Brockwell attended Virginia Commonwealth University.

Daniel Davenport joined Getloaded as a product development engineer. He was previously with New Age Digital.

Banking

Steve Yeakel joined Virginia Association of Community Banks as executive vice president.

Associations/nonprofits

James Alcorn was promoted to director of policy at United Network for Organ Sharing. Alcorn joined UNOS as a policy drafter. Before coming to UNOS, Alcorn worked for the Virginia State Board of Elections. He has a doctorate from the University of New Hampshire and attended the University of Colorado as an undergraduate.

Barry I. Matherly was named senior vice president of the Greater Richmond Partnership. Prior to joining the GRP, Matherly was executive director of the Lincoln Economic Development Association. He has a master’s from Virginia Tech, and attended James Madison University as well as the University of Oklahoma.

Andrea L. Butler joined the Better Housing Coalition as vice president, fund development and marketing. Butler previously served as communications director for the Virginia Commonwealth University Massey Cancer Center. She attended James Madison University.

Boards

Kevin Meek was elected to the board of the Virginia Cable Telecommunications Association. Meek works for Comcast Spotlight.
