A Fan bakery has closed after less than a year in business, and the space it was in has been reborn as a political campaign post.
Mark Brandon, a broker with One South Realty, said Ingrid’s Bakery vacated its space at 2118 W. Cary St. this month.
Veteran baker Ingrid Allen opened the shop in March. Ingrid’s specialized in wedding cakes, but the bakery also offered cookies, pies and breads.
Brandon said he has temporarily leased the space to Environment Virginia. The organization is using the building as a campaign office to drum up votes for President Obama.
After the Nov. 6 election, the space will be back on the market, Brandon said.
