One of Richmond’s biggest restaurateurs is about to bring a Fan location back to life.
The Richmond Restaurant Group is set to unveil Pearl Raw Bar in the former deLux location at Strawberry and Main Streets. The company closed deLux last summer to devise a new concept for the space.
Pearl should be up and running for dinner and brunch by early February, according to Michelle Williams, a partner in the restaurant group.
“We have done a complete overhaul of the place,” Williams said in an email to BizSense. “We have closed in the mezzanine and created a new entrance on Main Street for the upstairs lounge, which is a separate place, name still to be determined.”
Williams said Pearl would be more casual than the group’s other seafood restaurants, which include Water Grill and the Hard Shell. It also owns the Hill Cafe and Europa.
The group has also made some progress on the former Glass & Powder building at 2934 W. Cary St. The company is converting the former surf shop into a natural food cafe tentatively called the Daily Kitchen and Bar.
Williams said that restaurant is shooting for a March opening.
