I had coffee and sandwiches at the Federal several times. Just a beautiful location and wonderfully decorated. But the sandwiches were not good and the coffee was terrible. They needed to pay more attention to their product than just the atmosphere.

Same thing here, the atmosphere was awesome but the food and coffee was terrible. I’ll also add the music was awful. Techno at 8:45am????

Both of you: Thanks its a good kick while I’m down and have been run out of business. If everything was so terrible why did you come in SEVERAL times. We pay incredible attention to the food. If you are assuming this is why we aren’t open anymore you”re wrong. And we aren’t even open at 845 in the morning. But thanks anyways its always good to know that small businesses have advocates like you to put in their two cents.

Noah, get a clue…take it as feedback and go on. I really do not think they were trying to “kick you when you’re down”. Make note of it, for when you do re-open or when you are exploring your next endeavor. Your snarky remarks here, and elsewhere (you know), do not reflect well on you as a small business owner. Obviously, you have paid as much attention to the food as you have to your manners – these are customers giving you a clue (take it or leave it.)

I’m really sorry your experience at the Fed wasn’t good. I can assure you nothing is more important to me than the quality of both the food and the coffee. My doors are temporarily closed as you know. But when they re-open, I’m so sure your experience was a fluke that I’d like to prove it by inviting you back for a complimentary sandwich and cup of coffee. I’m sure they’ll be up not just to your standards, but to mine too.

Hey Noah, customers shouldnt come to small business owners out of guilt or conscience, they should come because they see value for your product or service. If you open a small independent business and expect people to support you based on just that, then you are doomed. Marketing the benefits of supporting small business is one thing, demanding unquestionable loyalty because of it is something else.

Sorry to hear it is temporarily closed. Went there with a friend and we both loved our sandwiches and coffee. I really liked the atmosphere a lot, and although I didn’t have any pastries, cakes or muffins they really looked delicious. Close to the capital downtown; hope you all reopen soon so I can come back and try those pastries with my delicious coffee!

Ok Brian. The guy’s gotten lectured enough by you guys. All you’re doing now is piling on.
It was a beautiful shop with great food and the kind of atmosphere you do not get in a chain. I miss stopping in and getting my mug filled on the way to work. It was great coffee. It’s a real loss. I hope he lands on his feet.
