Creativity, community and “uncommon” connections were among topics explored at this year’s TEDxRVA event, held Friday at Richmond’s Carpenter Theatre at CenterStage.
“Uncommon” was the theme of the third annual event, which featured a diverse lineup of speakers with varying backgrounds and interests, from local advertising creatives John McAdorey and Brig White to music PhD and GWAR member Michael Bishop.
The event—a local version of the global TED (technology, entertainment and design) conferences was curated and emceed by Andy Stefanovich, a local business consultant, entrepreneur and a visiting professor at the University of Richmond.
The daylong discussion has grown since its start in 2013, when it was held at the Power Plant at Haxall Point. The event returned last year at the November Theatre in Jackson Ward.
