Two years after they purchased it, a local couple has listed their West End residence for $2.75 million.
The 5,700-square-foot home at 210 Virginia Ave. in the Westmoreland Place neighborhood was listed Monday by Lucy Williams of The Steele Group | Sotheby’s International Realty.
Property records list the owners as Douglas R. Cornell Jr. and Jana Michelle Suyes, who purchased the home in July 2014 for $1.95 million. The purchase was the area’s highest-priced home sale that month.
Williams represented the buyers in that transaction as well. At that time, she said Cornell worked in technology and the pair had been looking for the perfect home for a couple of years.
Reached Tuesday, Williams declined to discuss the listing without permission from her clients.
The six-bedroom, three-bathroom and three-half-bath house is situated on just under an acre at the corner of Virginia and Pocahontas avenues. The city’s latest assessment valued the property at $1.87 million.
The Georgian-style house was built in 1928. Features include a hand-carved walnut family room, a solarium, a tap room and formal dining room.
The house isn’t the only nine-figure listing in the area. Nearby, Bill and Pam Royall’s Tudor Revival mansion on Cary Street Road remains on the market for $3.95 million. In Windsor Farms, a similar-style mansion on Sulgrave Road is listed for $4.95 million. And farther west, the Windemere mansion was listed last month for $3.99 million.
