The latest homebuilding styles and design trends will be on display throughout the Greater Richmond area through the month of October.
The 65th annual Parade of Homes showcase starts this weekend at locations in the city and surrounding counties. The event is put on by the Home Building Association of Richmond, which is celebrating its 70th year.
Ninety homes make up this year’s parade, showcasing the skills of 36 builders. Participants include Jones Homes Custom Builders, Shurm Homes, Perkinson Homes, LeGault Homes and Homesmith Construction, among others.
Builders compete for awards in categories such as best bathroom, kitchen and curb appeal. Winners were announced earlier this week in price groups ranging from the $200,000s to upwards of $1.2 million.
Midlothian-based Main Street Homes picked up three gold awards for homes in Ashmill at Collington, Winterfield Park and Westerleigh. Other gold award winners in various price categories included Jones Homes Custom Builders, LeGault Homes, NK Homes, Shurm Homes, Southern Traditions, Ray A. Williams Custom Homes, StyleCraft Homes, Ryan Homes, Richard Atack Construction, Eastwood Homes, LifeStyle Homes Builders, Covenant Building & Design and Creative Home Concepts.

Entries are located in neighborhoods in Chesterfield, Hanover, Henrico, King William, New Kent and Powhatan counties, as well as the city of Richmond. Neighborhoods include Vaughan Heights, RounTrey, Scot’s Landing, Hallsley and Summerduck Farm.
The showcase will be held each weekend through Oct. 23. Homes are open from noon to 5 p.m. Admission is free.
