A new-to-Richmond juice and smoothie bar is now open in Short Pump.
Jamba Juice quietly opened the brand’s first store in the region last week in the Corner at Short Pump retail center at 11807 W. Broad St., with local franchisees Ritesh Brahmbhatt and Vikram Parekh at the helm.
With the Short Pump store operational, the duo now has its sights set on opening another location in Scott’s Addition, a booming neighborhood in the city.
“It’s certainly where we would like to be,” Brahmbhatt said of Scott’s Addition. “We want to get this (Short Pump) location going and on a routine before we fully dive into another operation.”
While Brahmbhatt and Parekh have not settled on a property in Scott’s Addition, they are working with brokers Peter Vick and Harrison Hall of Divaris Real Estate to find the right location.
Jamba Juice is known for smoothies and juices, in addition to fruit bowls, yogurt and granola, breakfast wraps and toasted sandwiches.

The Short Pump store will be serving up the chain’s signature drinks such as “Mango-A-Go-Go,” which blends frozen yogurt and sherbet with mango, pineapple and passion fruit slices; and “Orange Carrot Karma” – with carrot juice and slices of orange, banana and mango.
The Short Pump location will also carry reusable tumbler cups, which Reams said will allow customers to come in for refills at a discount.
In all, Parekh said he and Brahmbhatt have invested about $500,000 in their Jamba Juice venture, which includes franchise expenses and renovations.
Chesterfield-based Boa Construction completed the renovation, while Richmond-based NBJ Architecture was the store’s designer.
The Short Pump location’s grand opening is set for Nov. 26, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Brendan Reams Jr. is managing the new operation and overseeing about a dozen employees.
