A nearly 80-year-old house facing the seventh fairway of the Country Club of Virginia’s Westhampton Course was the top residential sale in the Richmond area last month.

The 5,000-square-foot Dutch Colonial at 6337 Ridgeway Road sold Sept. 27 for $1.75 million, the price it was listed for when it hit the market June 21.

The Steele Group’s Debbie Gibbs had the listing, representing sellers David and Karen Carter, who purchased the home in 2007 for $1.65 million, city property records show. The latest city assessment valued the half-acre property at $1.63 million.

Online property records did not reflect the sale as of Thursday or list the buyer, who was represented by Linda Dalch Jones of Napier Realtors ERA. The house went under contract June 26, five days after its listing and the day after a no-show provision expired.

Totaling nine rooms with four bedrooms and 3½ bathrooms, the two-story house was built in 1940 and has been renovated. It has varying-width hardwood flooring and a foyer with a curved stairwell, as well as a den with a wet bar and wood-burning fireplace.
