Buoyed by incredible weather and a captain’s choice format, the foursome from local insurance agency Lyons & Associates took home bragging rights on Monday after winning BizSense’s first Safe Harbor Title Invitational golf event.
Lyons’ score of 17-under was the best among the 25 foursomes that played the one-day tournament at The Federal Club in Hanover County.
Federal Club general manager Carl Filipowicz and his crew had the par 72 course in excellent shape, helping Tim Lyons, Matt O’Laughlin, Chris Kapsak and Ryan Cole finish the course in 55 strokes.
Coming in second with a 13 under par 59 was Thomas Dodson’s group from Unlimited Air Mechanical.
Rounding out the top 3 was the Safe Harbor Title-sponsored team of Henry Shield, Rob Long, Peyton Lawson and Chris Snow, shooting a 12-under par 60 for the day.

The Safe Harbor Title Invitational is the first of at least two golf tournaments to be hosted this year by Richmond BizSense in an effort to provide some much-needed networking while still keeping in mind the need for personal space and safety.
Stay tuned to BizSense as we begin to bring back more events in a safe and fun format this summer and fall.
