More Blizzards are in store for Chesterfield County.
Plans are in the works for a new Dairy Queen across the street from county courthouse complex, according to documents received by the county earlier this month.
The fast-food restaurant would rise on an undeveloped assemblage of three parcels that includes 9400 Iron Bridge Road. The site consists of 4.5 acres.
The assemblage is owned by an LLC tied to Daljit Singh that acquired the parcels for $850,000 in December, per online land records.
The new-construction spot would be one of the DQ’s Grill & Chill outposts and would feature a drive-thru, according to a conceptual plan filed with the county. The 2,200-square-foot restaurant would also have an outdoor patio area.
There would be vehicle access to the restaurant on both Iron Bridge Road and Halls Run Road.
Further details about the restaurant, such as who the operator would be and when it would open, were unclear Friday.
Greenville, South Carolina-based architect James Wilkerson, who is listed as the project’s applicant, said he forwarded a request for comment to the restaurant’s operator. The request wasn’t returned last week, and the fast-food chain’s press team didn’t respond to an inquiry Friday.
There are eight DQ locations in the greater Richmond area listed on the company’s website. The location planned for Iron Bridge Road would appear to be the third in Chesterfield, joining others at 14031 Midlothian Turnpike and 3900 Bailey Bridge Road.

Wow, DQ? It’s been a while since I saw one of these built. Good for them!
You mean like the new DQ Grill & Chill location that opened on Charter Colony near Route 288 on Midlothian Turnpike in July 19, 2021. They do tend to open 1 or 2 new ones every 2-3 years.
Much to my chagrin, some of us miss a lot because we don’t realize their is life on the other side of the James…….lol.
Yeah I get that; some of us have family on both sides of river and friends almost all localities so we pass a lot of places moving between homes.
Yesssss. I had just talked about this five hours ago about hoping it’s coming closer to my area😉. I just went to the one very first time in Charter Colony area Midlothian VA after my interview. Right next door. I’m 20 minutes away from Iron Bridge Road! Looking forward for brand new opening!!
