Chesterfield supervisors to consider increased density at Moore’s Lake project

The Chesterfield Board of Supervisors is scheduled to meet Wednesday.

On the board’s docket is an amendment request by developers George Emerson and Phil Roper to modify the master plan and development standards at the developers’ Moore’s Lake project, and increase the project’s residential density.

If approved, the project, which is under construction on a roughly 170-acre site at 12100 Moores Lake Road, would see its permitted residential development increased to 1,359 units from 1,215 units, per a staff report.

Of the total residential units allowed, nearly all of them would be apartments along with 30 townhomes. The master and conceptual plans for the project would be tweaked to eliminate a 62-lot tract of single-family homes.

The Planning Commission and staff recommend approval of the request. The full agenda for the meeting can be found here.

At the Hanover Board of Supervisors meeting Wednesday, the board is scheduled to review a proposal for a commercial project just north of Virginia Center Commons.

The project, which is being proposed by Roke Partner, planned to include a Sheetz and Valvoline and additional space for more retail and commercial development, including a grocery anchor, per documents related to the rezoning request.

The development would rise on a seven-parcel assemblage of 22.5 acres at 10364 Kings Acres Road, which is near the Hanover-Henrico line. The development would have two entrances on Route 1, two on Telegraph Road and one on Kings Acre.

Roka is seeking a rezoning of the property to general business district (B-3) with conditions. The land is currently zoned for agricultural (A-1) and general business (B-3).

The full meeting agenda can be found here.

Henrico board to weigh funding for Project:Homes development

The Henrico Board of Supervisors meets Tuesday.

The board is expected to vote on whether to direct the county manager to execute a memorandum of understanding tied to a proposal by housing nonprofit Project: Homes to acquire 5910 and 5920 Nine Mile Road, and develop the properties into a subdivision.

Henrico would provide a grant of $625,000 to go toward the project, which would be built in the eastern part of the county, under the pending MOU.

The project would consist of at least 22 single-family homes, which would be affordable for buyers earning no more than 120% of the area median income.

The meeting’s agenda can be found here.
