Scott’s Addition’s office scene has landed another newcomer, this time a local interior design firm.
JTW Design recently paid $1.5 million for 3309 W. Leigh St., a 5,000-square-foot office building that it’s planning to convert into its headquarters.
The seller was locally based Ocean Drywall, which bought the property in 2021 for $1.1 million. The building had most recently been used by a car shipping company.
After around a decade working for an interior design firm in Washington, D.C., Jessica Williamson founded JTW Design in 2011 and now runs the business with a staff of six. It is currently based at 15 S. Auburn Ave., a 2,000-square-foot converted house that’s owned by Sauer Properties near Carytown.
JTW’s clients are primarily local single-family residences, but Williamson said the firm does work all over the country and has also been taking on more and more multifamily and commercial projects.
Part of the reason for the move was to be in Scott’s Addition, where commercial and multifamily developments abound.

“Geographically, Scott’s Addition was the right fit. It edged us a bit more toward that professional, commercial market, and we want to have our name out there more than we had in the past,” Williamson said.
“We’ve (also) learned that as we’ve grown, we need more space to stretch out and display our work, and be able to host larger groups in a more elevated setting.”
Williamson said she was also thrilled to be able to own her own office in a hot neighborhood where most real estate sales are to developers paying a premium.
“I pinch myself every week. We had time to do due diligence, but we jumped on it quickly,” Williamson said. “I’m very aware of how lucky this situation has been. It’s not lost on me.”
JTW Design closed on the deal in early December 2024 and was represented by Range Commercial Partners’ Marc Allocca and Hamilton Shaheen. The city most recently assessed the parcel at $1.4 million.
Williamson said the company is now preparing a thorough renovation of the 75-year-old building that’ll include adding windows and new technical systems. Emerald Construction is the general contractor, R.L. Delph Architects is the designer and Blue Nest Structural is the engineer.
JTW Design is aiming to move into its new office sometime this summer.
Other companies that recently planted an office in Scott’s Addition include general contractor Harkins Builders, financial firm Apogem Capital and commercial real estate brokerage Newmark. The former Isley Brewing Co. space in Scott’s Addition was also recently leased to a mystery user.
