Is Bank of America trying to drive away customers?

bankofamericaI’m always shocked at how badly some big companies treat their customers, and this time it’s personal.

Especially with Bank of America. It’s like they are trying to drive you away. I will never bank with a national chain again.

Bank of America sent me a letter that I will now be charged $9 a month if the balance in my checking account drops below $1,500.  It usually does because it’s not my primary checking account. I’ve had it since college and never really deposit any money into it.

So I called to try and threaten them into crediting me back that $9, and I can’t get anyone on the phone for 20 minutes.

Can’t some of that bailout money go for an actual human being who can fix a problem. Of course, there is a branch near our BizSense office, but they say they can’t fix those problems.

This ineptitude never ceases to amaze me.

http://consumerist.com/consumer/phone-numbers/reach-bank-of-america-executive-customer-relations-259194.php

go to this link, call one of these numbers, I had this problem with Wachovia. I called the CEO’s voicemail, left him my name and phone number and my complaint, without even returning my call everything was refunded to my account.

Bank of America customer service is horrible. The branch near Broad and Boulevard is absolutely the worst I have ever seen in my life. I went over there to close my checking and savings account. I waited in the teller line for about 20 minutes. Once I reached the teller she told me that I had to go visit one of the account reps. I waited 40 minutes for an available account rep. There were two of them supposedly working but only one was handling the clients. The other one just kept pacing between tellers and her desk constantly without… Read more »

Everyone should just switch to USAA — they have the best customer service and the best offerings. Unlike most of my friends, I never have to worry what ATM to use because USAA refunds any fees that the banks charge for using their atm. Any issue you have is immediately resolved by NICE and COMPETENT USAA employees.

You are a fool, you are in an interest checking account that earns about .1% interest. Just change the status of your checking account to regular checking and you won’t have to keep $1,500 in it. Stop whinning and just take care of your business. You sound like a little Bitch. Read your disclosures and deal with reality. And stop whining! You will never get your $9.00 back because you moved too slow to deal with it. They notified you and you just sat there like the lazy pathetic bitch that you are. Now you want to whine about it.… Read more »

Seems you are correct… Bank of America turns away man born without arms ASSOCIATED PRESS Published: September 2, 2009 TAMPA, Fla. — A Florida man born without arms says a Tampa bank would not let him cash a check because he couldn’t provide a thumbprint. Steve Valdez didn’t have an account at a Bank of America location in downtown Tampa, where he tried to cash a check from his wife last week. However, Valdez has prosthetic arms and is unable to provide a thumbprint. He says he presented two forms of identification but was still denied. He says a bank… Read more »

I have had some wonderful experiences with BoA at local branches, but you’re right, when it comes to their national customer service number, they could use some work. After a fraud incident a couple of years ago, it took being passed to five different people before I went straight to my branch, where the national office tried to give their management the same run-around. Unbelievable. The good people at my local branch were finally able to resolve the issue to my satisfaction through their regional office.

I agree. I had a credit card acount with boa as well as other cc acounts. Boa happened to buy out one of the other banks that I had a cc with. Well I bank online so when I get a statement I just click on boa and enter the amount and send. What I didn’t realize was that I was sending payment for my new “boa account” to my original boa acount. I didn’t catch the mistake until the 4th month. What started out as a 12 dollar payment turned into about 80 bucks. I then had a 120… Read more »
