A longtime Henrico car dealership closed last month.
Patrick Kia at 4810 Nine Mile Road shut down Oct. 22, according to a note posted on its door.
Patrick Auto Group, which also runs a Buick GMC dealership in Ashland, ran the Kia dealership. Patrick Auto Group did not respond to multiple messages for comment by Monday afternoon.
The property is under contract to be sold and is listed with broker John Jay Schwartz.
The door note told customers they could be serviced at the GMC location at 405 S. Washington Highway.
“At this location, we can perform a full range of services from routine maintenance to Patrick Promise complimentary services to those that may be covered under extended services plans if purchased with your vehicle,” the note stated.
For manufacturer’s warranty issues, customers were directed to the West Broad Kia at 9001 W. Broad St., Hyman Brothers Kia at 11901 Midlothian Turnpike and Colonial Kia at 2300 Walthall Center Drive South in Chesterfield.
The Patrick Kia property sits on 5.5 acres, according to Henrico County records. The dealership building totals about 31,000 square feet. Patrick Group LC has owned the property, which most recently was assessed at $1.88 million, since 1988.
The late William T. “Pat” Patrick Jr. founded Patrick Auto Group.
A Richmond Times-Dispatch obituary from 2014 reported that Patrick formed the auto group in 1993 and added the Kia franchise in 1999.
Henrico records show that Patrick Kia previously was called Hechler Chevrolet, then Patrick Chevrolet, before becoming Patrick Kia in 2010 or 2011.
The Times-Dispatch obituary stated that Patrick had handed operation of the Kia dealership to his son, Trey, while his son Michael ran the company’s Buick GMC dealership.
