A new president at HBAR

Next year will be better, according to the new president of the Home Building Association of Richmond.

“I think 2011 will be an improvement year,” said David Owen, who is president of Boone Homes.

Owen was recently elected along with other officers and board members to serve the 50-year-old organization. He said his top priority as leader of HBAR will be to provide support to the group’s members.

He replaces past president Kevin McNulty of LifeStyle builders.

“What we are looking at is trying to improve member services to help all of our members get through what will be another challenging year. We are going to try to bring back some membership meetings to provide opportunities to network and get educated,” Owen said.

The first meeting will be in January and will feature former governor George Allen, Owen said.
