Surf shop back to life as a restaurant?

gp2121It looks as though a new restaurant may be coming to the former Glass & Powder Board shop at 2934 W. Cary St.

Richmond Restaurant Group partner Jared Golden recently purchased the 4,800 square foot space for $795,000. Glass & Powder was a surf shop.

The RRG, a major player in the local restaurant scene, owns Hard Shell, Delux, The Hill Cafe, Europa, as well as The Water Grill in Carytown.

The group also recently revealed its plans for a second Hard Shell location in Chesterfield in the space left vacant by Outer Banks Seafood Company in the Shoppes at Bellgrade.

No word yet on exactly what is planned for the Glass & Powder space. Stay tuned to BizSense for updates.

Please let it be reasonably-priced so most neighbors can patronize the place! So tired of the $20 entree (maybe that’s why so many restaurants are going under–we can’t afford to eat out at those prices and can make just as good food at home for a tenth of the price!)

Congrats to Jared, Michelle, and crew on a FANTASTIC location! Looking forward to what they’ll do with the space in my ‘hood….hopefully drilling up our G&P tile entry graphics… 🙂

Fresh, salad-driven lunches, delivery, and fresh/light organic fare would be welcome additions. NOBODY in Carytown offers a FRESH alternative like what Pluto’s does in San Francisco: http://www.plutosfreshfood.com/menu.html
