A local non-profit recently doled out the big bucks to hundreds of Richmond charities.
The Community Foundation Serving Richmond and Central Virginia awarded $631,470 to local charities and organizations through its new online fundraising effort, The Amazing Raise.
The Amazing Raise was a 36-hour online voting process that ran last week. An additional $50,000 was added to the pot when the event reached 5,000 total donations on Thursday. That extra money went to 20 organizations.
